HARVEST TABLE

Harvest Table was painted on pre-stretched canvas with Rare Earth Pigments ground into artist grade oil paints by John. The canvas was double primed with an acid free white gesso. The use of a white gesso allows the light that goes through the Rare Earth Pigments to reflect off of the canvas and come back out, showing the pigments as they were applied.
John collects Rare Earth Pigments from all over the world to prepare his archival paints. The hues are rare and near impossible to duplicate. Due to the rarity of the pigments, John tries to paint with pure pigment rather than mix pigments or dilute them with whites or blacks to lighten or darken.
The painting HARVEST TABLE represents 228 hours +/- of work.
